Individual Psychotherapy
Individual Psychotherapy is a very special process in which you are listened to, understood, accepted, and supported in ways seldom experienced in everyday life. By creating a safe environment for you to express yourself and explore personal issues, emotional pain is relieved and mental clarity is achieved.
Transformational Psychotherapy is a powerful form of individual psychotherapy that combines the self-awareness and gentleness of Eastern spiritual traditions with a unique, highly effective Western methodology. Transformation of the individual occurs when awareness is turned toward felt, present experience. Hopes and fears unfold into consciousness, barriers to new ways of being are removed, and new experiences are integrated which allow for the reorganization of core beliefs. Change happens in a more rapid, thorough, and lasting manner.
A body-centered, somatic psychotherapy...
The body is a door that can be opened to reveal the whole character and belief system of the individual. The body's structures, sensations, and habitual patterns become a powerful access route to unconscious core emotions and beliefs. The Hakomi body-centered method allows the hidden beliefs and unexpressed emotions that shape our lives and relationships to emerge safely into consciousness. Once conscious, they can be directly experienced and re-evaluated, and new dimensions of awareness can be integrated. Clients often experience physical healing when underlying emotional factors of ailments are released.
The mind... friend or foe?
The human ability for abstract thought is one of our greatest gifts. And yet for many of us, our minds have become an obstacle, keeping us stuck in destructive thought patterns and keeping us from fully experiencing life in the present moment. Through the use of meditation and other mindfulness techniques, we can use to learn to use our minds constructively rather than allowing our minds to use us. Letting go of unwanted thoughts leads to both more joy in the present and more clarity towards achieving our hearts desire in the future.
A spiritual journey...
Dr. Wayne Dyer states that all problems are ultimately a spiritual problem. No wonder then that traditional Western psychology, based on the medical model of pathology, has run into serious limitations. Recognizing that we are all on a spiritual journey of healing and growth allows us to reframe life's problems into opportunities to explore ourselves and our relationship to the world in a meaningful way. Spiritual practice involves exploring who we ultimately are - our true, essential nature, and our relationship to something beyond our personhood. Spirituality of the individual is honored as an intensely unique experience.
